How to choose an AI development company
Do not buy a slide deck. Ask what they will not do, how they test, who answers in week four, and whether you can open anything they already shipped.
Questions that separate studios from theatre
- What will you refuse to build, and why?
- How do you evaluate model outputs on our tasks—not a public leaderboard?
- Who supports the feature after go-live, and for how long?
- What data rights do you need, and what do you refuse to train on?
- Can we turn the feature off without a vendor ticket?
- What does rollback look like when the model is wrong?
- Will a human approve irreversible actions (pay, send, delete, publish)?
- Can we open a live product you operate, without an NDA?
- Is the quote tied to a written success criterion?
- Will you say “do not add AI” if that is the honest answer?

Should we hire freelancers instead?
For a throwaway prototype, maybe. For production with evaluation and support, you need a named owner after launch. Compare that, not hourly rates alone.
Should we compare Aarohii to OpenAI?
No. OpenAI sells models. Aarohii builds products that use models. That is not the same job.
